Source & Verification Policy

How we select, verify and attribute the sources behind our reporting.

Next Malaysia aims to make important factual claims traceable. We prefer primary records, official data, company filings, regulator materials and attributable interviews. Secondary reporting may add context, but should not replace a primary source when the primary record is available.

Source hierarchy

Tier 1 — government departments, regulators, Bursa and official filings, statutory data and public records. Tier 2 — official company websites, investor relations, annual reports, official releases and named spokespeople. Tier 3 — recognised industry bodies, universities and transparent institutional research. Tier 4 — reputable news organisations, for corroboration and context, not as a replacement for an available primary record. We avoid anonymous blogs, scraped content farms, unattributed social posts and AI summaries as primary sources.

Attribution

Important figures are attributed in the article body (“according to MIDA”, “DOSM reported”) and the article keeps an official-source box for transparency.

Freshness

Time-sensitive facts are verified on the publication day. Indexed company and people pages have leadership and titles rechecked regularly. Industry Pulse metrics show the period they refer to and the date checked.
